The short version: your career story stays yours. You choose how much we hold — nothing at all, or a synced account you can delete in one click.
Nothing is stored on our servers. Your conversation is saved only in your own browser, on your own device, so the app remembers you next visit. The Forget me button erases it instantly. Export saves copies to a place you choose.
Signing in exists for one reason: so your conversations and Career Memory can follow you between your phone and computer. With an account we store: your email address, your conversations, your Career Memory, your access records (which pass you hold and until when), a daily message count for the free allowance, your Scout search profile and recent job matches if you use job matching (your CV itself is not stored), and — if you use referral links — who referred whom. That's the whole list.
This data is held with Supabase in Ireland (EU), protected by row-level security: each account can only ever reach its own records. We never sell or share your data for advertising, and nobody at Culture & Clarity reads your conversations.
Delete means delete. "Delete my account & everything" in the Account menu removes your account and every record belonging to it — conversations, memory, access records, everything — immediately and permanently.
Shared computers: signing out removes everything from that device. Verified careers advisers' conversations are never written to the device at all.
To generate replies, your messages are processed in real time by Anthropic's Claude (primary) or Google's Gemini (automatic backup during outages), under their commercial API terms. We send only the conversation itself — no account identifiers.
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — we record only which pass you purchased and its expiry.
Sign-in links are sent via Resend from send.careeragenting.com. We use privacy-respecting, cookie-free visit counting — aggregate numbers only, no personal tracking, no advertising cookies.
Under UK GDPR you can access, correct, export, or erase your data at any time — Export and Delete are built into the app, or email us and we'll help. Data controller: Culture & Clarity Ltd (UK).
